We went on a picnic with some friends a few weeks ago and the kids had a blast. Picnics are a loved thing in this culture. Everyone brings their charcoal grills and we eat a ton. The kids play in the dirt and it lasts all day. We ate breakfast and lunch and were there from 9 until 6. We were all tired afterwards but we had a ball. Here are a few pictures.
Micah started school last week. She loves it!! She started taking the bus this week and I could hardly believe it. She has grown up so fast, lets just say I shed a few tears.
This week was crowded with several wedding events. Some close friends of ours got married and we spent a lot of time loving them and serving them. It was such a fun cultural experience and we are so grateful for our friendship with them.
Here is Jason helping with party favors.
Here I am with the bride on her special ladies night out. It is traditional for the bride to wear red.
Bride and groom on the dance floor.
Mid way through the celebration the bride comes covered in red surrounded by her closest friends chanting.
The bride then sits down while her hands are bandaged with henna. I am actually in this picture in the back.
Here is the bride today on her wedding day.
The groom comes to get the bride from her home and at that time they dance in the streets.
The kids enjoyed watching the dancing from the sidelines.
The actual wedding ceremony.
After the wedding we went to a garden restaurant for dinner and the kids had a blast!! They ran around in this big open filled and played on the beanbags.
